The Day is was supposed to rain and end this
Desperate little Piece of Desert Heat
Also was the Day when I first found You
An' thought you were the Best of Men to Meet
I thought I saw Bright Stars where your Eyes were
Felt them sparkle Rhinestones down on Me
But you were all just honky-tonk and Dried-up
Somethin' Bad You really shouldn't be
The Day when it forgot to rain I wondered
If Single's What I always was to see
If I was gonna dry-up in this desert restaurant
Jus' mutterin' "Tea or Joe, what will it be?...."
But now I've thought a whole lot more about it
An' I can see I wasn't very wise (no, not a'tall...)
Cuz in our love I thought I saw Sweet Rainfall
But you had jus' a Mirage in them eyes
O somewheres there's a Heaven where it's Rainin'
And all the Love can grow there, yeah, so well
But here we're facing weeks without a drop of happiness
An' wantin' Rain is jus' a Livin' Hell
Someday I jus' gonna up and leave here
