One Water
thought you were the one
one man my man
thought you were the one
made jus' for me
there be more ways
than one water
more ways to go down
to this sea
you've been the one
the only one man
for me
one sweet man
for me
so many rivers
run slow run fast
hundreds runnin' past
to the sea
to this sea
there be only one man
out of many that
be lovin' me
be lovin' me
I have a boat here
just a little ol' canoe
I be runnin' down this river
to be one with one man
that be you
o yeah, that be you
I am a river myself
runnin' tired and deep
to this sea
this big ol' sea
singin' songs about how
there is just one man
for me
just this fine one man
for me

this one is actually a bit of a memory paraphrased from a song my grandpa's housekeeper sang to my sister and me when we were little kids - her name was Lily B - in Shreveport, Louisiana, over maybe 58 or so years ago....
wish I could remember the tune entirely!....
the FIRST LYRICS, that are actually been performed, by Debbie Kuhl Wendt, a very, very fine Songwriter and Performer on piano and guitar. This is her song arrangement...it's quite lovely and bluesey...I'll post all the actual music when I can...aren't sure it will always come through, but I'll try!...eventually, many of these are going on to CDs
