LOSING JACK
When I was just a kid well maybe not a kid
I was a teen, but new to teen, this other teen
He died he did he was the boyfriend of my
Best Friend and he died his name was Jack
And I cannot forget him no I can't ever
Forget Him
So we will sing Amazing Grace cuz
That's the song you ought ta sing
When Young Men Die you fold
Their Wings and sing Amazing o
Amazing sing Amazing Grace
Now that I'm old I have ta say that'
Folks are dyin' all around me and that's
Come just normal and they're many
Friends and Family names a plenty
And I can't forget them no I can't ever
Forget Them
So we will sing Amazing Grace cuz
That's the song you have ta sing
When Your Folks Die you fold
Their Wings and sing Amazing o
Amazing sing Amazing Grace
I know my years are drawing close
And leaving is a kin to dyin' stayin' is
Kin most to lovin' an' I've got good
Folks and Family names abound
I don't forget them no I don't ever
Forget Them
So I sing then Amazing Grace cuz
That's the song you have ta sing
For Jack and Jill and all the others
While you fold and fold their Wings
Amazing Grace Amazing Grace
Amazing Grace Amazing Grace

LOSING JACK is a lyrics and is part of the Jambalaya People series: Losses of Folks in one life - mine, to be clear, here - he was the first young person my age I knew to die, of a bone cancer - he was my best friend's very dear and kind, for a kid, boyfriend....that loss still is there, like a marker on the path....
