THREE WISE MEN is just a vignette on the 12th Day of Christmas of this 2013...and oft neglected history - revised, of course, to suit my perceptions....enjoy it!

so it is now officially the 12th Day of Christmas, with the musicians playing and all on account of this is the day the Three Wise Fellows came all the way from the farther Far East to see the New Born King who their Astrology foretold would be New Born. They brought him really, really useful gifts: Gold (always welcome) Frankincense, which smells up places like the manger very nicely - always welcome, also - and, costly....and Myrrh, which is for gum/tooth pain, which everyone had in those days, since there were not Dentists in those days for the common folk - also costly - it's a sort-of historic fact that they showed up in the Bethlehem region looking for this King, and it upset the Romans in charge enough to record it and cost some baby boys their lives, tho the historic factualness of this part is controversial. So, there you have it: I am fond of these three: they risked much to find something Great and gave gifts for that and then went home. I honor their courage and imagination in this Adventure of a Lifetime. and today I'll take down my toy manger scene and put it away with the other Christmas stuff until next year...so long Wise Men. They just don't make them like you anymore....
