ONE COWBOY STORY
In his youngun' cowpoke days
He was a brash one, yes, he was -
He rode like hell and roped like fire -
Whooped it up in town at night...
But you ain't seen no better man
When cattle spooked and ran away -
He'd herd em up with his dog, Rusty -
Those two: they made things all right...

CHORUS
He didn't sing Get-along-little-doggie -
Country and Western was much more his style!
He was jus' a Cowboy - he wern't no B-Western -
He knew how to fight - but he knew how'ta smile....

Where the sun meets rim of canyon
Both risin an' settin' on its way,
He'd be just sippin' hot coffee
Watchin' nothin' - nothin'ta say...
On his fine mustang named Black Pete -
He'd trained that stallion to love work -
Pete was a cuttin' horse - a good pal -
He never failed and never shirked...

So saddle up and get out to the
Range and ride hard til day is done...
There's sun and heat and tired hands -
An' when it's night, it's 'Town' for fun...
But there's alone and sometimes lonely -
An' sometimes danger - oft-times, pain...
While you work for beans and beer an'
Have no future in your aim....
